Internships

We host three three-month full-time internships throughout the year. Interns work as active members of the Karacters team—developing design concepts, executing ideas, participating in critiques, and doing a number of less glamorous jobs like we all did when we got started in the industry. Internships are not paid.

How do I know if I qualify?
You have completed a minimum of three years within
a communication design program.
You love design, art, and culture.
You experience life with a keen sense of awareness and observation.
You love learning, listening, and contributing.

How do I apply?

• Your resume

• PDF portfolio containing three of your proudest projects

• A sample spread from your sketchbook

• A brief three-sentence description of the three things you are most passionate about.

We will contact eligible candidates for interviews soon after the deadline.

Application deadlines.
Fall internship, November to January: October 30, 2009
Spring internship, February to April: January 15, 2010
Summer internship, June to August: May 14, 2010

Student portfolio review

We offer recent graduates and fledgling graphic designers feedback and guidance on their portfolios throughout the year. Send a request to portfolio@karacters.com for a thirty minute interview with one of our designers.

Come prepared with:

• A carefully edited portfolio of your proudest projects

• Your sketchbook

• Three great, thought-provoking questions
